Murals allow Rebecca to engage with the public in a way that is site-specific and allows her to consider the experience of an audience. Organic design processes are fluid and interactive, taking place over a prolonged period of time. The social interactions involved in murals contrast with Rebecca’s independent work in the studio setting. 

The opportunity to design and create these community murals in Brighton started in 2020. Intrinsic to their design were the workshops that encouraged participants to develop artwork that formed vital inspiration for the final pieces.
